What are the challenges facing the Polish economy, what affects its development and whether Polish companies and universities can effectively compete with entities from Western Europe and the United States – among others, participants of the 6th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship, which took place 24 September 25 at the Poznań International Fair. Jadwiga Emilewicz – Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology took part in the inauguration of the event.

The event gathered over a thousand participants from all over Poland. The most important goal of the congress was to create a platform for understanding and exchanging experiences for Polish entrepreneurs, scientists, local government officials and central administration. The leitmotif of this year’s event was the slogan Modern Economy – capital for the future.

As part of the congress, nearly 30 discussion panels took place, during which the most important issues related to economic and social development were undertaken, such as the level of Polish innovation, the role of universities in shaping the labor market, energy market challenges, regional development in the 2014-2020 perspective, the housing market in Poland, business and local government cooperation, corporate social responsibility, or commercialization of research. As part of the congress, there were also workshops of the National Center for Research and Development, within which it was possible to obtain assistance related to submitting applications for co-financing projects.

So far, we have had the opportunity to show the economic values of the Śląskie, Lubelskie, Łódzkie and Lubuskie voivodships. This year, we focused on the Greater Poland Voivodeship as a place where cooperation between business and science allows us to create many innovative solutions and conduct advanced scientific research. We do not forget about the local governments whose activities develop our economy and were an important point of this year’s talks – says the organizer of the event – Wojciech Pomarański – president of the Polish Agency of Entrepreneurship.

During the congress there was an exhibition zone, under which Polish entrepreneurs, scientists and local government representatives could promote their services, products and investment areas. The organizers invited to the exhibition area, among others, Volkswagen Poznań, FANUC Polska, Poznań University of Technology, Wielkopolska Center for Advanced Technologies, PORSCHE or West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
