On 26 and 27 October 2017, Zielona Góra became the center of talks on the future of the Polish economy. During the 5th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship – Lubuskie in 2017, over 1000 participants from all over the country – entrepreneurs, scientists, local government officials debated on topics related to business, science and local governments. The event was organized by the Marshal’s Office of the Lubusz Voivodeship. The Congress was held under the slogan “The State of the 21st Century. Knowledge-based economy. ”
As part of the 27 discussion panels, the participants raised issues related to, among others, business support instruments, development of local governments, digitization, medicine, energy, the labor market in Poland, higher education, innovation or public transport. The panel on the role of women in the economy was very popular, including Elżbieta Anna Polak – Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship and Ewa Minge – a fashion designer whose work is appreciated all over the world. There was also a lot of interest in the CSR panel, moderated by Joanna Brodzik – the president of the “Heart Keeper” Foundation, Ambassador of the Lubuskie Economy. Panel participants emphasized the important role played by the adoption of the strategy of responsible development in Polish companies and institutions, which has an impact on the positive shaping of their image. The summary of the first day of the Congress was the Gala hosted by Przemysław Talkowski and Paulina Sykut-Jeżyna, during which the Lubuskie Innovation Awards were awarded – the Marshal of the Region’s awards for the most innovative companies from the Lubuskie region.
During the second day of the Congress, among others discussion panel devoted to business issues in sport. Special guests – Andrzej Supron, Przemysław Saleta and Sylwia Bogacka – well-known athletes all over the world had the opportunity to raise the issue of business approach to the sports industry through sponsorship as well as approaches to the athlete as a brand.
Congress attracted the attention of a wide range of experts in the economy, entrepreneurs, scientists, local government officials, representatives of government agencies and the media on a national scale. Participants of the event, sharing their knowledge and experience, have developed many important conclusions that will become the foundation for further discussions about the development of our country.
