Economy, investments, innovations – summary of the 7th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship
Two days of debates, over 1,200 participants, 150 speakers, nearly 30 discussion panels – this is how you can summarize the 7th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship, which took place on October 24th-25th in Olsztyn. The special guest of the event was Mr. Jurgen Tiedje – representative of Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission.
The most important goal of the congress was to create a platform for understanding and exchange of experiences for entrepreneurs from the SME sector and large companies, scientists, local government officials and central administration. The theme of this year’s edition of the event was: “Digital economy and society – development perspectives”.
As part of the congress, nearly 30 discussion panels were held, during which the most important issues related to economic and social development were raised, such as the level of Polish innovations, the role of universities in shaping the labour market, challenges to the energy market, regional development in the perspective of 2014-2020, the housing market in Poland, cooperation between business and local governments, corporate social responsibility, or commercialization of research. During the event, e-factoring workshops and numerous B2B meetings were also held.
– This year, an important point of our talks were issues related to digitization, automation and the use of EU funds. Our economy requires cooperation between business and science, which directly translates into its development. The choice of the Warmian-Masurian region as the venue for the 7th Polish Congress of Entrepreneurship was not accidental. Our goal was to highlight the economic values of the voivodeship, and above all, to promote local companies and local governments, and I think that we have fully succeeded – says Wojciech Pomarański – president of the board of the Polish Entrepreneurship Agency, organizer of the event.
During the congress, there was an exhibition zone where Polish entrepreneurs, scientists and local government officials could promote their services, products and investment areas. The organizers invited to the exhibition area such entities as: IMPEL Group, ING Bank Śląski, Wipasz, Mercedes-Benz Polska, the National Guarantee Fund, Poznań University of Technology, Wrocław University of Technology, the City of Elbląg and the City of Giżycko.
During the congress, the most dynamic Polish companies, universities and local governments, received awards from the Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship. In addition, during the event, the Start to The Future competition was held, as part of which the jury award for the start-up went to Glaze Prosthetics and the audience award went to the start-up IQ.Screen.
